The Ball

Saturday night was such a fun night. Paul and I attended The Annual Atlanta Medical Association Inaugural Ball. This is a yearly black tie affair that we attend with enthusiasm. Its all the who's who of affluent medicine in and around the Metro Atlanta area. The Atlanta Medical Association is the oldest and largest organization of black physicians in the world. It was started many many decades ago and it is still thriving. In 2006 Paul received the "Young Physician of the Year Award" from the organization. This is a very high honor and it was even more special because he had only been here practicing in the city for 2 years when he received it. He has really spread his wings and made a name for himself. Well this year he was installed as the Secretary for the Atlanta Medical Association, yet another huge accomplishment especially for someone as young as him. I am really proud of him because he has worked so hard to be a respectable hard working black man, husband and father.

So here are a couple of pictures of us at the ball. The woman in the picture with me is actually the kids pediatrician Dr. Moore. She is such a little fire cracker and an excellent physician. She is well regarded in the black community as the BEST pediatrician in the metro area. Her practice is so busy that she doesn't even take infants anymore and hasn't for about 5 years. She only took our kids because Paul is well known and a physician friend.
Its also cute and kinda funny to see all the elite old school wives with their floor length fur coats and bling bling. Lord, I pray I never buy a fur coat!
